That’s why I’ve made it my mission to work with aspiring skiers and snowboarders to get them more focused, powerful, and technically proficient than they've ever been before. Whether you are learning for the first time, or are an accomplished skier or rider, I can help you reach your potential.

My Experience, My Passion
I am a PSIA-AASI Certified Alpine Ski Instructor with over 30+ years of skiing and snowboarding experience; as well as an industry professional with experience in sports science and athletic training.
You’ll find I am extremely passionate about learning my students' goals, and have the knowledge and experience to help them improve.
I care about making plans for your skiing improvement on the slope in winter, as well as teaching you training techniques to maintain what we developed through the summer months.
Through my trained eye, I will find innovative ways to help you improve!
LESSONS AND CERTIFICATIONS
PRIVATE TRAINING AND LESSONS
I offer Private one-on-one Training Sessions year-round for clients of any age and experience level. These individual lessons are a great opportunity to analyze your movements off-piste and help you to boost your performance.
We will create a custom ski-lesson plan with measurable improvements during each session, and a list of fitness activities catered to your needs to practice off the slopes.
When it comes to on-piste in-season instruction, I have aligned with Mount Hood Meadows’ Learning Center to provide instruction through their Ski School. I can arrange the time and day on behalf of my students for our private lesson, using their rate card. (All transactions for this lesson will be through Meadows).
GROUP LESSONS
If you prefer group lessons, you will find me listed as an official instructor at Mount Hood Meadows Ski Resort. I can be requested for group sessions from their ski school during the months of December to April.
Simply ask for me by name: “Matthew Hilla” when requesting a lesson, and they will have a list of dates and times I am available at the resort.
CERTIFICATION AND ACCREDITATION
As a licensed and accredited instructor, I teach the PSIA-AASI standards developed by the top professionals of the industry since 1961. Through a strategic mix of theoretical lessons and practical sessions, students become familiar with all aspects of the sport and will continue to develop skills both on and off the mountain. If you’re looking to elevate your skills, accredited sessions with PSIA-AASI certified instructors are key.
